Rock Notes

February 2012
Hello there and Happy Valentines day! Speaking of love, I Love English folk music and I am listening to my English folk playlists which has Davy Graham, Bert Jansch, Shirley Collins, Fairport Convention, Nic Jones, Nick Drake and Richard Thompson.I am sure i am missing someone who ought to be in there but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
Speaking of my head, I am just getting over a badass head/chest cold that had me down for about a week, and made me weak as well, but now I am starting to feel a bit better and thought it was time for a frothy ale and some good earthy English folk music to raise my spirits,
Speaking of spirits, I have been making this drink lately that my wife and I just love it's called a Negroni which is one part gin one part sweet vermouth and one part Campari, and I put a splash of Pellegrino it's just delicious and just right at cocktail time.
Speaking of just right, our new blues cd should be just right on time for a early spring release this year, the bulk of it is done and then just a few overdubs and few new acoustic songs and a quick mix and master and boom boom boom it's Sorentino blues time! We had a great session at Room with a View studios in Petaluma and did 14 songs in one day! just like The Beatles first album, not that I would ever compare us to The Beatles but we were keen to get the tracks done in one session and so far it sounds like we did! I will put up a rough mix of one of the songs in the next week or so, everyone played well and stayed focused which is not as easy as it sounds. We will be playing a bunch of the songs at our gig in Sausalito March 10th so come on out and get the blues or get rid of the blues or just dig the blues...
that's it for now, dig you later,
Danny man
