Rory Judge

Drums

A veteran of the San Francisco Rock scene in the late 1970's and early 80's, Rory cut his teeth with a wide variety of bands from punk to polka. including many shows at the famed Mabuhay Gardens, the punk palace of the west.

Rory joined The Sorentinos in 2011, and it was love at first beat. Besides knowing thousand of old covers, and recording at least 26 of his own CD’s, Rory says “Danny writes songs the way I like to play”.

In addition to working with the Sorentinos, Rory has also performed with many local and national renowned jazz artists, including Howard Alden, Bucky Pizzarelli, Warren and Alan Vache’, and Randy Reinhart to name a few.

You can catch him working a few times a week in Sausalito with his own group, “The NU Jazz Trio.”

His drum arsenal includes modern, as well as vintage drums and cymbals. When it comes to his set up, like his drumming...less is more. "I don't like a lot of drums, cymbals or fills, on stage or in songs. I do like to roll the rock, and make it swing."
